How To Reduce The Size Of An Image



To reduce the size of images I have tried some software. and the results less satisfactory, finally my friend recommended to me to use Paint.NET. For now this software is my main options to help reduce the size of images.

As an example I will try to reduce the size of an image using Microsoft Paint Windows and Paint.NET

1. Reduce the Size of Image Using Microsoft Paint Windows
  • I try to open the image on Microsoft Paint Windows and resave it, and the result is image size increase to 1.3 MB.
  • I try to resize the image on Microsoft Paint Windows to 600 x 450 pixels and the result is image size decrease to 153 KB.
2. Reduce the Size of Image Using Paint.NET
  • I try to open the image on Paint.NET and resave it with the quality setting is 90, and the result is image size decrease to 1 MB.
  • I try to resize the image on Paint.NET to 600 x 450 pixels with the Resampling setting is Best Quality, and the result is image size decrease to 62 KB.
With these result I think you are agree with me, if Paint.net is better than Microsoft Paint Windows. So if you are webmaster and have a wallpaper sites, the Paint.NET is very useful to help you to reduce the size of images.

Download your YouTube Videos in original format via Google Takeout

Earlier in YouTube, there were certain limitations on downloading your own videos from YouTube. Though, YouTube did provide an option to download files through Video Manager but had few limitations on quality of videos. In case you uploaded a HD video in YouTube of 720p or 1080p and when you download the same via Video Manager will squeeze it into 480p and will be saved in MP4 format. This limitation was one of the main drawback in YouTube had due to which many users were restricting themselves from uploading their videos on YouTube.

However, If this is something, which is stopping you from uploading your video on YouTube, then no need to worry. Google recently announced a new feature in Google Takeout where in you can download your own uploaded videos from YouTube in their original format, the way you uploaded in YouTube. User can choose to download all uploaded YouTube videos in an archive file.

Step 1: Go to Google Takeout, Click on Create Archive button. Google will start creating an archive’s files of all video which you have uploaded in YouTube. Building an archive file may take some time, depending on the file size and number of videos.

Step 2: Once the archive is complete showing 100% status, you can proceed to download by clicking on Download button. In case the file size is greater than 2GB then Google Takeout will split them into the individual file of 2GB each.

Drawback: Google Takeout doesn’t provide any option to choose individual videos from YouTube.

Google Takeout was originally used for taking out data from Google in case of closing account from Google or moving your account. However, adding YouTube feature under Google Takeout might come very handy & useful for many users on YouTube.

How to Download Your Facebook Data

We all make collection of Images, Songs, Movies, etc. which we get from our friends. Have you ever thought to collect all of your Facebook data in a file just like any other collection? You might be thinking how it is possible to do so. Yes, Facebook has the answer to it. Facebook has come up recently with a feature to help you Download your Facebook Data. You can download all your Facebook Data such as Profile pictures, personal info, videos, photos and everything which was uploaded by you on Facebook.

This can be very helpful in case you are thinking of deleting your Facebook account or want to backup your Facebook data. Follow the below guide to download your Facebook account data.

1. Login to your Facebook account.

2. Now click on ‘Account Settings’ in the top right corner in a dropdown next to Home.

4. Click on ‘Start My Archive’. It will take some time to retrieve all the posts and data that you have in your Facebook account. This depends upon the size of your data. The more the data you have on Facebook the longer the duration will be taken to archive the data.

5. As shown below, you will receive an email to your email address which you use to login to your Facebook account and click on ‘Confirm’.

6. Below screen shows that Facebook is processing and generating your personal archive.

7. Now go to the Download Page, enter your password and download the Zip file on your PC.
